I started this blog in hopes of getting some help and/or suggestions with such a sensitive topic that has not only taken over the life of my daughter but the lives of other family members as well.  My daughter who is only 16 yrs old has had issues with binge eating for years.  I've consulted with Mental Health professionals to no avail, I've called eating disorder programs who said it was not considered an eating disorder because she did not purge.  Over 100 lbs plus later we are still struggling with this issue.  My daughter's eating is out of control and there is no easy way to discuss it and to be quite honest I'm becoming very insensitive to the situation the older she gets feeling like she has the choice to overeat or not but the mother in me says it's something she cannot control.  I have tried EVERYTHING from changing diets (vegetarian, vegan) to making sure nothing unhealthy comes in the house to locking things up and am now at the point of shopping day by day to avoid putting the food in the house altogether.  I do not know what to do and her weight is a major issue as it still keeps climbing and she keeps overeating.  When no one is home she will find things to throw together to feed that urge to eat.  We are at the point to where we need to go to an operating room to get her wisdom teeth pulled because putting her to sleep in a dentists office is too dangerous because of her weight and I do not feel she even takes warning to that situation.  I NEED HELP....my biggest fear is that by the time she is 18 she will die of a heart attack or be too big to even want to move.
